A Community Health Worker who specializes in primary healthcare with health promotion as a key component is known as a "Health Promotion Officer." In addition to assessing and identifying health needs, the HPO also steps in to intervene with primary healthcare tasks.
What will I learn?
Once you've finished this course, you'll be able to:
Treat minor illnesses, wounds, and injuries, then direct them to the clinic
Give rudimentary nursing care
Administer palliative care
Measure your body's temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Inspect illness outbreaks, impart knowledge, and refer patients for treatment.
Examine sexually transmitted infections, impart knowledge, and make treatment referrals.
Examine youngsters and recommend immunizations
Examine expectant women, new moms, and their infants, then refer them for treatment.
Testing and counseling for HIV and AIDS
Check drug and substance users, then direct them to treatment facilities.
Inform people of the risks associated with drug and substance abuse
Inform individuals on the need to keep their homes, environment, and water clean.

DURATION OF STUDY
You may register for a maximum of 1 year. This will ensure that you complete your qualification within the required time frame (providing that you pass all modules).
Maximum number of modules per semester In the first semester, you may enroll for a maximum of 3 modules, and in the second semester, a maximum of 3 modules. By doing this, you'll make sure that you finish your qualification in the allotted time (provided that you pass the modules you registered for).
Major employer is Department of Health (Clinics, rehabilitation centres, testing and counselling centres) through its implementation of Primary Health Care Re-engineering under NHI.
Other employers include Schools, waste disposal plants, water purification plants, local municipalities, Mental Health Centres, Old age homes, mines, Health Research centers, Cancer foundation, heart foundation, diabetes foundation, social department, department of housing and NGOs
